Overview

Darjeeling is situated on a long, narrow mountain ridge of the Sikkim Himalayas that descends abruptly to the bed of the Great Rangit River. On a clear day the city affords a magnificent view of Kanchenjunga (28,169 feet [8,586 metres]), and Mount Everest can be seen from a nearby viewing point. Gangtok, city, capital of Sikkim state, northeastern India. It lies on a tributary of the Tista River in the southeast-central part of the state at an elevation of about 5,600 feet (1,700 metres). The city's name means “Top of the Hill.” Gangtok rises over slopes extensively terraced in corn (maize)

 

Itinerary

Day 1

Our representative will be there to receive the Guest at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction) – He will be assisting for the transfer - Darjeeling - Nearly 105 kilometers 3 ½ - 4 hours drive – At an height of 2123 meters / 70001 feet lies the land of breathtaking beauty, sloping tea gardens with spectacular views of the Mount Everest is the Queen of the hills – It is also home to the famous World Heritage train of UNESCO Tag – The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR), Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park - Check into hotel – Evening free to roam around Mall or local Shopping center - Over Night stay at Darjeeling

Day 2

This morning, you will drive to Tiger Hill (8,400 feet) to chase the down and see the stunning view of the sun rising and throwing it pinkish glow on the landscapes. After spending some time at the tiger hill, you will embark on a drive to the hotel via Ghum Monastery, which famed for its 15-feet high statue of "Maitreya Buddha" and Batasia Loop, famous for its war memorial. Enjoy scrumptious breakfast at the hotel and then go for the city sightseeing tour. As per the itinerary, today you will be visiting Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Ropeway and Japanese Temple. Evenings will be free for leisure. Stay and enjoy dinner at Darjeeling.

Day 3

This day will be dedicated to Mirik excursion, a tiny hamlet, which is approximately 58.2 km from Darjeeling. On your journey to Mirik, you will be making your way through Indo-Nepal Border. Further, you will be visiting the Mirik Lake (4,902 feet), Sumendu Lake, Cardamom plantations and Tea Estates. At Mirik Lake, you can enjoy boating or horse riding. In the evening return to the hotel for overnight stay and dinner.

Day 4

This morning after breakfast, drive to Gangtok (5,500 feet), which is 100 km from Darjeeling. View of lush green mountains and bubbling brooks will greet you at every turn. In the evening, you will be transferred to hotel on arrival at Gangtok, acclimatize to the weather, followed by an overnight stay.

Day 5

In the morning, after breakfast, go for a city sightseeing tour. Going by the itinerary, today, you will be visiting Tashi view point, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, Flower show, Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre, Institute of Tibetology, Dro-dul Chorten, Enchey Monastery & Banjakhri Falls. Thereafter, you will be transferred to Gangtok hotel for overnight stay and dinner.

Day 6

After breakfast, you will visit Tsomgo Lake (12,400 feet), a high-altitude lake that is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhist. According to the legends, Buddhist used to monks study the colour of lake's water to predict the future. Thereupon, you visit the Baba Mandir, which is approximately 55 km from Gangtok. Later continue to drive to Gangtok hotel for dinner and overnight stay. P.S.: In the case of a landslide, Tsomgo Lake will remain closed, but a visit to the alternate place will be provided.

Day 7

After breakfast drive to Bagdogra airport or NJP railway station for reaching your onward destination. Tour & Services Ends.
