Overview

Jammu & Kashmir is situated at northern himalayas.  It is located in the extreme north of the country. It is bounded on north by China, on east by Tibet, on south by Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and on west by Pakistan. Geographically this state is divided into four zones - the mountainous and semi-mountainous plain known as Kandi belt, hills including Siwalik ranges, mountains of Kashmir valley and Pir Pangal range and Tibetan tract of Ladakh and Kargil.This state has a number of beutiful  lakes, rivers, rivulets and glacial regions. The important rivers of this state are Indus, Chenab and Sutlej (Jhelum). There are extreme variations in climate in the state, due to its location and topography. The temperature of this state varies spatially. Leh is coldest and Jammu is the hottest In winter night temperatures go down below zero and very often experience snowfall.

Itinerary

Day 1

Pick up from Srinagar airport & Transfer Hotel / Houseboat as Applicable. After Visit Mughal Gardens "Nishat" (The Garden of Pleasure) and "Shalimar" (Abode of All) and Chesma Shahi (Royal Spring). Drive along the Lake side on Boulevard .On return visit a local Handicrafts Emporium for hand-knotted specialty Silken carpets, shawls, jewellery ornaments. In second half day Visit Shankracharya Temple. Overnight stay in Houseboats

Day 2

After breakfast start your trek towards Vaishno Devi Situated in a cave in the Trikuta Mountain in Jammu and Kashmir, the Vaishno Devi shrine is one of the most popular pilgrimages in India. Perched at an altitude of 5200 feet, it involves a trek of nearly 12 kms from the base camp at Katra. Evening return back to your hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel in Katra.

Day 3

After breakfast at hotel drive to Pahalgam via Chinani in Jammu and Kashmir State of India. Drive through several villages and Jawahar Tunnel or Banihal Tunnel is a road tunnel in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. After crossing the tunnel drive to Pahalgam on the Situated at an altitude of 2130 mts. above sea level. It is Kashmir’s most popular resort surrounded by high mountains, dense forests, high mountain altitude lakes, it also offers 9-hole golf course, pony trails, Angling, (rainbow & brown trout’s) horse riding, trekking (both hard & soft) & various places of interest. Overnight stay at Hotel in Pahalgam.

Day 4

After breakfast Explore Pahalgam. Enjoy Pony Ride in Pahalgam or Trip to Aru, Betab Valley and Chandanwari by local taxi on direct payment basis. Overnight stay at Hotel in Pahalgam.

Day 5

After breakfast Explore Pahalgam then drive to Srinagar. Later on Shikara Ride on Dal Lake. Evening enjoy Shikara Ride on Famous Dal Lake. Enjoy a soothing Shikara ride No experience defines romanticism more than taking a Shikara ride on the serene waters of the Dal Lake. Passing lotuses floating on the Dal Lake will surely add to the moment. Overnight stay at Deluxe Houseboat in Srinagar.

Day 6

After breakfast proceed to Sonamarg. The drive to Sonamarg is through the Sindh Valley. Situated at an altitude of 2730 meters, Sonamarg (the meadow of gold). Ponies can be hired for the trip up to Thajiwas glacier, which is a major local attraction during the summer months. Sonamarg is the base of a major trek that passes along several mountain lakes – Vishansar, Kishansar, Gadsar, Satsar and Gangabal. Sonamarg is also the takeoff station for the drive to Ladakh across the Zojila, a major pass in the Great Himalayan Range, through which the Srinagar- Leh Road passes. Overnight stay at Hotel in Srinagar.

Day 7

After breakfast leave for full day excursion to Gulmarg. Gulmarg is a town, a hill station, a popular skiing destination. The town is situated in the Pirpanjal range in the western Himalayas. Gulmarg literally means the meadow of flowers. Gulmarg is situated at an altitude of 2730 meters above sea level and has a gently sloping topography. Gulmarg attracts various tourists due to its natural beauty. Gulmarg offer world's highest Cable Car (optional) that reach upto 14000 ft and other activities like trekking, Horse Riding, ATV Ride, Sledge Ride. Gulmarg can be visited throughout the year. Overnight stray at Hotel in Srinagar.
